Rajabhatkhawa (Buxa Tiger Reserve) - Buxa is the eastern part of Dooars. North East of The Himalayan range acts as a natural backdrop. A vast texture of dense forests teeming with wildlife, unending tea gardens, Babbling Rivers, interspersed with sleepy or busy settlements, constitute a fascinating tourist destination. The valley stretching from River Teesta on the west to River Sankosh on the east is full of wildlife & Tea Estate. Main Attractions of Buxa Tiger Reserve is tiger, Leopard (Black Panther also), Elephant, Clouded Leopard, Himalayan Black Bear, Barking Deer, Gaur, Pangolin, and Python. Buxa Duar is famous for its prison fort. Buxa Fort located on the Buxa hills is worth visiting and getting an idea from the ruins. This fort has a collection of materials of ancient epoch. This is a must visit place. The structure reflects / displays its magnificent glory of the past. Jayanti is famous for its rich variety of wild life and exotic scenic beauty. A stalactite cave popularly known as 'Jayanti Mahakal' and 'Pookri Pahar' are well known destinations from Jayanti. Scenic beauty and sighting of wild life is the main attraction of the region. Rovers Point is a land of unknown birds which is a beautiful spot to stay. The tourists can easily get to this place as it is located near to the Buxa fort. It offers scenic beauty to the tourist and trekkers. Jayanti Mahakal in the bank of River Jayanti is a scenic religious spot. At place for trekking that shares a natural border with Bhutan which serves to be the tourists’ attraction. Apart from this it has a cave called Mahakal cave which is quite slender and gloomy but it is also a tourist’s attraction. Attractions include wildlife. Most common animals in the area are one horned Indian rhino, Elephant, Indian Bison, Leopards and deer as they regularly come to the salt reservoir just below the tower. Safari and Elephant ride are the two options throughout the Dooars.
Buxa Tiger reserve is approximately 190 kilometers from Siliguri and closer to Alipurduar. This reserve forest abounds in a fascinating diversity of flora and fauna. The vast texture of massive trees sheltering varieties of orchids and resounded with echo of birds and wild animals make it a veritable paradise for lovers of nature and tourism. Small ponds on hilltop with innumerable numbers of tortoise are a gift no one can imagine. It is declared a National Park in January 1992. The name has been derived from Buxa Fort - a fort at an altitude of 850 meters on the Sinchula Range, used for detainees during freedom movement of India the other one was the cellular jail in Andaman Nicober Island. It presents a great range of Wildlife. Buxa is rich with bio - diversity and has a great collection of rare orchids and plants including medicinal plants. Few more attractions nearby are Nilpara, Chilabata, Kodalbosti, Raimatang and Nimati is worth visiting, Chilapata already has few small accommodation which are worth staying in.  The more adventurers ones may prefer to trek to Rupang Valley & Buxa-Duar in Buxa Tiger Reserve. Apart from these, there are very old temples and churches. Persons seeking history can take a look at the Prisoners call at the Buxa Fort area where fighters were imprisoned during the pre independence era. Rasikbill is one more place of interest, Sikiajhora is also worth visiting and there are few more place like Bhutan Ghat is also worth mentioning. Buxa, Rajabhatkahawa, Chilapata, Sikiajhora, Rasikbill, Coochbehar are some of the places of intere4st but the infrastructure in this sctor is comparatively low.

Communication: Bagdogra Airport (IXB) is the nearest major airport approximately 175 kilometers and is nearly 05 hours drive. Nearest major station is New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) is 170 kilometers. It is approximately 60 kilometers from Madarihat. Local train station is Rajabhatkhawa (RVK) is connected by the newly converted broad gauge New Jalpaiguri-Alipurduar-Samuktala Road Line. The train line leads through the forests and tea gardens of North Bengal and is scenic. This train line is also connected to the major cities of India like Delhi, Kolkata, Ranchi and Patna. Other railway stations are Rajabhatkhawa Birpara (BJOA), Hashimara (HSA), New Alipurduar (NOQ), New Cooch Behar Station (NCB) are other stations. It is located on the NH 31 (Siliguri-Hasimara) and is connected with Siliguri and other places in North Bengal & Assam. Private cars can be hired at Siliguri.
