North Sikkim District - This is one of the four district of Sikkim with its capital at Mangan. Main entry Points of North Sikkim is through Gangtok. This is 95 kilometers from Gangtok The confluence of the river Lachen Chu and Lachung Chu, giving rise to River Teesta in North Sikkim. It is the junction for the two passes, Lachen 29 kilometers and Lachung 23 kilometers. The valley is believed to have been blessed by guru Rimpoche and one can visit the Holy Guru Ihedu to see the foot and palm left behind by the patron saint. Yumthang – Yumthang situated at an altitude of 3596 meters i.e. 11,800 feet is about 143 kilometers via Chungthang and Lachung (2684 meters) from Gangtok in North Sikkim. Although Yumthang itself is located on a flat valley, the surrounding mountains seem to touch the heavens. The Singba Forest Reserve is also located in the Yumthang valley and is rich in wide varieties of Rhododendrons which when in bloom are a riot of colors. Yumthang is also well known for its hot springs which has a healing property for skin disease. Yumesamdong and Dhonkyla are 31 Kilometers i.e. an hour drive beyond Yumthang through the rugged mountain road takes you to an elevation of 4663 meters i.e. 14314 feet, an area where the sweet fragrance of Azalea fills the air. Also known as 'Valley of Flowers', the best time to visit is in April & May, when the rhododendrons are in full bloom. Kanchendzonga National Park - Spreading over an area of 850 square kilometers is one of the most beautiful and spectacular Park in India.   Covering the highest elevation range i.e. 1800 meters to 8600 meters approximately in the country. It’s a park of wilderness attracting nature & adventure lovers.  In the Alpine scrub and grass the common shrubs found are Mecohopsis, Primula Rhododendron, etc. besides these there are many medicinal plants. Among the fauna to be found in the park area is the famous Snow Leopard.

Communication: Nearest Major Airport from Lachen & Lachung is 230 kilometers and is nearly 08 to 10 hours from Bagdogra Airport (IXB) with a night halt for Inner Line Permit (Issued From Gangtok & Mangan) . Pakyong Airport is 35 kilometers from Gangtok. Nearest Major Railway Station is New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP), Nearest Major Bus Terminus are Tenzing Norgay Bus Terminus (Junction) and Sikkim Nationalised Transport.
